Epic Greeting Generator

The Epic Greeting Generator (E.G.G.) helps you quickly create an absurdly detailed greeting snippet for your automated emails! Get attention in the inbox, with personalised email greetings.

Written and tested for Drip users only (sorry, everyone else).

An E.G.G snippet greets your subscribers differently depending on their local time; this gives your emails an extra level of personalised greatness. Add this to a saved snippet and you can reuse it in all of your automated and broadcast emails.Β

A simple liquid email greeting could look like this:

Hi {{subscriber.first_name | default:"there"}}

The Epic Greeting Generator doesn’t do simple πŸ˜†.

How it works:

You can enable morning, evening, day of week and special date greetings, or you can just have regular greetings and no name greetings.

You can have multiple greetings for each greeting type and one will randomly be selected from the the right greeting type each time a subscriber is sent an email.

Priority order of greetings:
Date greetingsΒ (eg: 25 December) are top priority… then Day of week greetings (eg: Saturday)… followed by Time of day greetings (morning and evening greetings).. then Day and No time-zone set greeting… and finally No name set greetings.

A few things to note:

  • If you have several day or date based greetings on the same day or date, your first day or date based greeting will only ever be used.
  • You can use the keywordΒ first_name in your greetings and it will be replaced with a first name.
  • You can use the keywordΒ the_day in your greetings and it will be replaced with the subscribers local day, if a subscriber doesn’t have a timezone set, it uses the day in your own timezone.

This could also be used to generate an email sign off!

Hopefully you find this useful!Β  πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘
